Virgin Media - Unknown Outstanding Balance

Did you get agreement (hopefully in writing) from Virgin in 2008 that your contract was terminated as they could not provide the service at your new address? This is interesting, this has happened to me this month. Virgin have posted a default from 2007 dated 3 June 2012(in advance!) My situation is that Imoved house to an area where Virgin didn't have any cable so I closed the account as they couldn't offer me what I was getting at my old place. They then started hassling me for the balance of the contract £100. Naturally I refused as they could not provide me with a service. They then put a debt collector on to me with whom I had a pleasant conversation and offered to see them in court. They finally dropped the matter in 2008. Now it's back! I have written to Experian and asked them to intervene and also sent a snotty letter to Virgin. Let's see what happens...
Or did they just stop asking for the money?0 -
We only recently started including data from Virgin Media on Experian credit reports - May I think. If you have VM on your report and you disagree with it you can take it up with them direct or with us. We can certainly liaise with them on your behalf.

Hi,
I have a similiar issue - an outstanding payment of £100 to virgin media has appeared on my credit report (for an account from 2004!). As far as I was aware this account had been settled and paid in full. I spoke to Experian who told me to speak to Virgin, and I spoke to Virgin who told me to speak to Experian! Any advice as to where to go from here as I really don't want a default on my account for a debt I knew nothing about!Too ashamed to admit how much I owe!!0 -
Hi everyone,
this completely unknown Virgin Media default balance has appeared on my credit report - gobsmacked - no idea what it's to do with.
With your past knowledge, do you have a decent email, postal, or phone contact to communicate with Virgin?
Many thanks0
