Help! B&D strimmer stopped working

Hi.

I've had a black and decker gl716 for a couple of years and it has been great but today it has just thrown a wobbly!

The power is still getting to the motor but the strimming part doesn't turn.

The engine is obviously working as when you press the switch it makes a whirring noise and lets out a high powered jet of air like a very high powered hairdryer.

Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks

Probably cheaper to get on ebay and find one on there, ours broke a couple of weeks ago and it was cheaper to buy new than try to repair it

A new drive belt is only £3 on eBay , don't supposed you know how easy it is to take one apart and fiddle?!

    Thanks

Never done one, but I doubt it's hard. Watch out for the fixing screw which is hidden under one of the labels, apparently.

Please may I ask how you know about the fixing screw? Is there an online manual somewhere out there?

    Thanks

I just put "black and decker gl716 belt replacement" into my favourite search engine. The comment appeared in several of the reviews...
