When I want my skin to look super-amazing for an event I tend to use an EA ceramide capsule. It looks greasy and like the world's worst disaster to begin with, then it soaks in after a minute and gives an excellent base. Have been using these occasionally for years (only ever buy them for my mum though, as she uses them regularly).
The trick to the MoM is the amount you use, its used by make up artists, which is where I got the tip, because it works well with all skintones including black and asian, its very effective so less is certainly more, I've used the Soltan product you mentioned after I had my peel its a great sun cream but my make up slid off within about an hour so I guess it just depends on your skin type and what works for the individual:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -

Just remembered as well the Olay filler is nice too I had some samples its a bit denser and more opaque so I wonder if it would work well under mineral make up, just thought I'd give you something else to think about, I'm sure you don't have enough with a wedding and everything;)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

Elemis make serums without silicones in, my mum is a huge fan and swears by them (I can't vouch as they are far far away from a cost I could even anticipate considering!) If you do have a wacky budget or wanted to splash out they could be worth a look? I know QVC carry them which could possibly mean you get a good deal if youe willing to hang on.
Could also be worth looking for natural brands? I know that silicones can be naturally souced so you may well find them within natural products too but you may find a different result with natural products. I would consider websites like Aveda, Daisy Green, Burts Bees, Jason Organics, Green People, Nuxe and even Lush who have serums in the form of a bar.
I have read that Liz Earle, Origins and Kiehl's are naturally based but have my doubts, however they could be worth a look.0
