LED Replacement Bulbs for 50W GU10's?

Will - yes I've got your page saved and am very interested in trying these - these are the brightest MR16s I've seen, and they're also very cheap. I think I'll give them a go and report back...
So what's the difference between these 2 then? The cheaper one at £5 has a 2 year guarantee rather than 1 year but they seem identical otherwise....

No idea I'm afraid. It looks like it's just different manufacturers. You could get one of each and see which you prefer. I've never tried any of the 12v bulbs from that site.0

OK I've now been able to fit and test the lights above that are recommended by WillCalderwood.
They state that they are 460 lumens, 120 degrees. I've found however that they don't provide as much light as these lights, which are 380 lumens, 60 degrees:

Which I have stated before somewhere on this forum, still isn't quite as bright, to my eye as the 50W 60 degree halogens that I'm trying to replace.0 -
The energysavingled lights are quite good in terms of brightness (I find them brighter than usual halogens), but there are two issues I have with them.
The Cool White version is actually quite a Blue version - it makes everything appear with a blue/purple tinge. And both color versions have a switch on delay of about half a second compared to halogens which come on instantly.
Do you see these effects too?
Thanks.0 -

I can't agree about the half second that you mentioned before an LED comes on. As far as I'm aware they come on instantly.
Thanks for that!
It's interesting because when I installed them side-by-side with halogens there is a really long delay in these LEDs turning on which leads to quite a bit of flicker when they do. I may try to get a video of that. I do wonder why that is...
Anyone else has them turning on instantly or not?0 -
I have led bulbs in kitchen 4x 50w equivalent (warm white) and they come on instantly
My kitchen ones are these

Bathroom I got them from tp24 as I have a special light in bathroom that only takes low energy bulbs they take gu10 but have a small bit of plastic sticking out which normal gu10 wont fit
Bathroom ones 3 of them

I would say the kitchens ones aren't quite a warm white but not white either0 -

I have also got these lights that you've linked to. Actually just arrived today and I've just tried them out next to energysavingled ones and the halogens.
They are definitely by far the least bright of the lot, but most interestingly these also come on with a delay. Even a bigger one than the energysavingleds - the Aurora are the last to turn on...
Is there something in my electrics that could be causing specifically LEDs to be delayed?0 -
I must admit when I got mine I did get a brand new light and specifically says it will take led's. My old kitchen light took mr16's and may need a new led driver.
I haven't compared these led with others other than one sin bathroom, but I am more than happy with mine. There is definitely no delay on either led bulbs I haveI have also got these lights that you've linked to. mymedi - cool white is kindof white/blue - if you wanted to match halogen colour you should have ordered warm white. People think they want white light instead of yellow light, but not generally in the home, with the exception of the kitchen maybe. Ours is in the bathroom and I think I would look even worse in the mirror in the morning under cool white light!
Switch on times - absolutely not. LED DOES come on instantly, and halogen takes a while to 'explode' into life. Very obvious when you run them side by side. Since you mention a flicker, I have to guess that you're running your LEDs (MR16?) off a halogen transformer. Some halogen transformers can't cope with the low wattage of the LEDs.0
