Expensive car hire claim

I have high excess insurance which makes me pretty much liable to pay for an accident where it's my fault. I hit a car and did very minor damage to the rear wing - the repair was less than £100 - fair enough I don't mind paying that as I admit it was my fault.
What I'm upset about is the £465 for car hire, I don't think it's fair - it was only a vauxhall not a maserati!
I'm after some advice on whether I can dispute this?
Thanks

You don't say how long it was hired for.
Ask for an itemised bill, and then you will have a better idea of whether or not it's fair.0 -
Hi, thanks I'll get back to them0

If the car hire was just for the period of time the car was in the body shop you haven't got a leg to stand on. You can't expect the other party to be without a car due to your negligence. However you may dispute it if the car was safe and driveable AND the hire was above what was needed for the work.
Just be glad you don't have a personal injury claim there as well.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0 -

Good old credit hireDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -
I've seen cases where the car was written off at a value of 1k and the hire was 10k.
Credit hire for you.0 -

£465 is nothing! Several thousands of pounds are fairly standard from my experience, and I think the highest one I saw was about £208k!!0
