My pc is upstairs and connects wirelessly (had to buy a wifi USB dongle thing to connect to it, was a low spec pc). I tried plugging it into the router with a data cable but it won't connect?
Any ideas please?
Want to hard wire it for greater reliabilty (once it's connected)
Cheers

Check in Network and Sharing Center that the LAN connection is enabled.
Also check in device manager to see if there are any unknown devices, or any with a red X or yellow triangle containing a !How do I add a signature?0 -

It shouldn't make any difference whether cable is plugged in with PC on or off. Maybe the plug wasn't inserted fully (until it clicks into place)How do I add a signature?0
