You pursue the ones who set up and sold you the finance, so if it was the car dealer then you complain to them with the reasons you have for being mis sold by completing a reclaim questionnaire below, keep a copy for yourself as well.

You are only entitled to your money back if the policy was missold.

The most common reason for this (particularly with car dealerships) is that it was a single premium policy added to the loan.

If this does not apply it is still possible that a complaint may be upheld - but it is more difficult.

As far as I'm aware the polices Arnold Clark sold were cheap and were paid in monthly instalments that could be stopped at any time without a penalty. Their documents are usually very clear and so I doubt you will have any grounds to complain.

Also if it was sold in a garage then it you won't be able to prove what was said at the sale because there will be no recording of the conversation (if you think they gave you vebal mis-information?).

Why do you think you may have been mis-sold the insurance?
