Is it too late?
I havent even started yet. Not a seed or a plant or even a tattie in the ground. Nights are sitting around -4 and we've had very light snow showers most days - doesnt lie, but shows how cold the air is. We have had sun as well which is warm but when a cloud comes over its baltic.. Is there anything at all I can plant out in this? I need to get moving with the tatties or I'll run out of time
I have kale, rocket, chard, sorrel, turnip greens & runner beans - all seeds still to get started.

It's not too late - but for tomatoes I'd be tempted to buy one shop bought one, (or at a boot sale or market), let the side shoots get to 3 inches then root them in water - that way you will have plants as big as any you could have sown early in the season
For future years I'd say you should invest in some clochesYou never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -
Temp not quite as cold as with you Mardatha but having the snow showers and as you say baltic when the brief sun goes behind a cloud
if you havent shelter or cloche outside you could start sowing indoors in seed trays and cover up the ground you want to plant into with plastic to warm it up
ive sown peas outside yesterday carrots , and beetroot just covered them over with fleece
get them packets opened and make a start, it'll fill you with some optimism that weather will improve
my long range forecast looks promising from next weekend
heres hoping0 -
Can I start with seed tatties? Going to run out of time . How about onions ? And if I do plant some of the seeds will they sit dormant or will they just rot ?0

i'd go ahead and plant seed tatties the ground shouldnt be frozen solid ??
, they will be protected enough under ground
it would be emerging foliage that wouldnt be happy with this cold icy wind chill , at least they would be in ,and could get going
onions too i would plant out if you can cover them with a bit of fleece or cloche ( i started mine in indivual tray cells back in march to get them going and have planted them outside now , if you have a warm window sill sow some stuff indoors , your kale , rocket , chard, if not i would give it another week ( it will be getting warmer ) may even reach the heights of double figures ( and not in the minus lol )
its frustrating when you here others having trusses forming on their toms and what to do with surplus ( id be greatful for a few ripe for a sarnie at the end of t he season)
best of luck
have alook at forecast ( if you dare on accuweather.com ) i.have found it very reliable for my neck of woods0
