First Direct credit card a/c closure

A couple of months ago I closed all my accounts with FD and moved on to another bank.

I'm still receiving statements for this accounts showing nil balances and nothing to pay, as I have destroyed the card.

I don't know if I'm correct but it looks like the a/c is still active, what I'm wondering is if I wanted to use this a/c again they would just send me a replacement card.

I know what did I close it for in the first place, but we all do these things.

Cheers

Andy

I think it is not normal. They must stop sending statements after account had been closed. Contact them!

I was a FD customer for years then moved to Nationwide. I closed all accounts, current and savings, but they still send me nil balanced statement. Have asked them to cancel this on several occasions. But, still I get the statements.

I've just called FD and they've changed systems. The new system is producing statements for old customers that no longer hold an account, they did confirm to me that my a/c was closed and that I should just destroy the statements I receive.

    Thanks guys for your comments.
