Clueless staff at Virgin + Game

Virgin Megastores in Birmingham had no idea about the student discount on the PS3 which forced me to pre order mine from Walsall instead. That was bad enough, but on top of that the staff tried to tell me the PS3 was £475 to start with

Game in Bullring Birmingham - when asked how much they will be charging for PS3 titles on launch "£60-70".

Blatantly without a clue - steer well clear.

Isn't it possible that £60-£70 is the price range of the games?

As an example Nintendo DS games range from around £20 to £35 so if asked how much a DS game costs the reply would be £20-£35

GAME shop staff can't tell you because THEY haven't been told yet.
Estimates are £40-£60 but it hasn't been finalised.

the reason I left Game was because they put a 21 yr old in as manager who didn't have a clue about anything other than how to play on his ps2, who reduced the hours of all the experienced staff and brought in loads of his mates who were no better at it than him.

So yes I think you have hit the nail on the head there!
  • in virgin in walsall it clearly says its £425 for ps3 console minus student discount = £382.50

Just what I was thinking. But then again I often see people on benefits complaining about faulty top-of-the-range stereo systems, plasma TVs, DVD recorders etc. I come to work with patched up clothes because I can't afford new ones! Sometimes I wonder...
