Is it a Corsa B or C?
I'll not say as I dont want to be seen as touting it on the forum.
That said, I probably shouldnt have said what it was in the first place.Yes they do! I did it a month ago, there was an option hidden on the V5 that says you've self-destroyed it, I sent it off along with a short handwritten covering letter and they sent me a letter back saying it's been dealt with and I'm no longer responsible for it
Thats good news too, I've a sorned Omega logbook needing scrapped.
Theres been about 15 litres diesel taken out via the sender unit to date, I'll need to drain it and get a total.harveybobbles wrote: »Drained the fuel tank and got about £20 of petrol too lol.0 -
a w reg corsa is a corsa b and i think you will find there is little market for parts off these apart from say an ecu lockset and a working maf
with regards end of life it was said that this govt would do away with perpetual sorn but seeing as you cant write your own destruction certificate this is what you will need to do for the forseeable future or incur fines
good luck by the way
you must have understanding neighbours with half a rusting behomath stuck up your drive, wheres hyacinth bucket when you need her:D;)0 -

VERY understanding neighbours. Google earth shows 2 rover 827's in my drive and if you go onto streetview it's an old range rover lying there.
Right now it's the corsa (which is actually in good condition) and a frontera (winter project). At least the 4 motorbikes are all out of sight out of mind in the garage and I've not yet filled my IBC with used vegetable oil. :eek:0 -

If you have a newer V5 than me (mine was 4 and a half years old) perhaps the option isn't there?
Thing is pendulum, as you say your V5 was over 4 years old and yes it had the 'hidden' box which wasn't hidden. It was on every V5 clear as day and as I mentioned previously, is the box I had also used. I still have it on the V5 for my current car however when DVLA replace them with the red ones it will be gone. DVLA are 'officially' refusing to accept anymore self destruction ticked boxes too although if you done one last month perhaps they've finally accepted its more hassle than its worth to refuse them. What I would say to anyone is don't rely on this method as the DVLA may refuse to accept it. I asked them about this via a FOI request a few months back and they dodged it purposefully responding with general DVLA procedures and other stuff thats already common knowledge. If they are still accepting self scrapping, it's not official.0
