4 yr old Birthday Day Out - Edinburgh/Glasgow

Looking for something to do with our 4 year old tomorrow for his birthday.

Had planned to take him to Glasgow Science Centre, but have heard rumours that Motorway is closed at Charing Cross - something about a building being demolished????

Wondered about Museum of Childhood in Edinburgh or Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh.

Does anyone have any experience of these - looking for something really interactive for him to do - but I need places to sit down regularly as 36 weeks pregnant!!!!!

    hello
hope this isn't too late. haev you looked on s1play 'things to do'? its usually a good source of places to go and things to see. you could try the kelvingrove art gallery/museum and then across the road to transport museum (both free!) i loved the transport museum as a kid and the kelvingrove is fab with huge skeletons and stuffed animals etc. as you are in the west end (the ONLY place to be!) you could also go to the kelvingrove park (weather permitting)

i haven't been to dynamic earth or to the science museum as i am a true money saver and only go to free places!

oh and also while you are in glasgow you could check out the IMAX cinema, it plays 3D films for kids and its meant to be fab. (and a nice sit down)

i'm not sure about the clydeside expressway/charing cross being closed as i don't drive much in Glasgow but they have been re-jigging the expressway over the past few months. i'm sure you would still be able to get everywhere though?

anyway have a great day! xx
why be a song, when you can be a symphony?

Not really that interactive but have you thought about Edinburgh Zoo? I was there last year and there's plenty of seating dotted around the place and when I was a nipper I used to love the zoo.

It can be a bit steep in places though as it's predominantly on a hill!

    have a great day!
