We would love to go to the usa for our honeymoon.
Need advise and help trying to sort it out .
Here goes....date 7/8/12 for 2 weeks.
Flying from heathrow/gatwick
want to spend 4 days to visit grand cannon/las vegas.
Then we want to spend the remainder of our honeymoon in a good hotel on a great beach to totally relax , florida ?
We realize we would have to take internalflights to get to our final destination.
Any idea if we should use a company to sort out the multi centre or is it cheaper to diy it.
Do we need car hire while we visit cannon etc.
we are in our early fifties by the way.

For beaches you could go to Clearwater in Florida or perhaps Hawaii.
For information about Vegas check out the thread at the top of the overseas holiday page. I think 4 days is a bit short to see Vegas and the grand canyon properly - we spent 3 nights at the canyon and could have spent longer. You've also left it very late to book accommodation there as it usually sells out many months in advance. If you just want a day trip to the canyon you could use someone like pink jeep tours. If you want to see the proper canyon go for the south rim. If you're driving yourself you will obviously need a car, if you take an organised trip you can get around Vegas fine without a car.
You should get a quote from a travel agent and do some research to see if you can beat their price. You can use kayak to check flight prices. The Vegas thread will give you lots of info on sites to use to book hotels there (check out the first page it's a wealth of information).
Be aware that Vegas in August will be hot (possibly 110 or higher) although the upside of this is that there are very often cheaper hotel deals.
I hope this has been useful and if you need any more help just ask.0

Minimum time TBHO for a USA trip
 Flying from heathrow/gatwick
Lots of choice of Airlines-Direct or indirect
want to spend 4 days to visit grand cannon/las vegas.
Grand Canyon is worth an overnight at least-It's a 10Hr round trip from Vegas.
Vegas for first timers is worth about 3-4 nights
Then we want to spend the remainder of our honeymoon in a good hotel on a great beach to totally relax , florida ?
 Opposite coast!
 Hot Humid In August

 Cheaper but takes planning DIY
Do we need car hire while we visit cannon etc.
Not really necessary but gives greater flexibility.

I'm 57  and have done these trips a lot.
 I'd say
LGW-LAS 4-5 days for Las Vegas+ GC then remainder in Hawaii.
 Probably Maui or Big Island0

If you just wanted to relax and do not mind pool instead of beach I would recommend Palm Springs. You could do the following fly drive:-
 Vegas
 GC
 Palm Springs
 LA
We just spent 3 days at palm springs as part of our honeymoon and loved it.0
