I've done something VERY stupid!!!

The thing is that I'm not going to lose money thanks to laying off the bets. The mistake I made was laying off a bet with Betfair before putting the bet on with the bookies. It turned out that my £50 free bet couldn't be made until my first bet had been resolved and the kick offs overlapped lol. I still thought I'd get a profit thanks to my laying off the bet...the result at the bookies wasn't likely to come in imo at the time, but it did.
Just got to make sure I don't make the same mistake again, but like I've said I learnt from that.0 -

You are being very naive here. Again, what will you do if one of your bets is voided (the other will still stand), or one of the bookies goes under?
I have made several thousands through matched betting, I know the system very well. I also know that things go wrong, no matter how careful you are. You would be incredibly stupid to continue with your current attitude.0 -
Mmmmm, can I be stupid and ask what "bonus bagging" is in simple terms please?
Surely if it has anything to do with casinos or betting shops there is only ever going to be one winner?????
Or are looking at the goose that lays the golden egg here???
Sorry, I've never been much of a one for betting, so am a bit thick with it. I do quite well off cashback sites though.0 -

But you did. So it can't be that easy.thesnowdog wrote: »I've learnt from the mistake I made anyway so won't be doing that again.
Apparently you haven't learned from your mistakes at all. Risk vs. Reward - if it goes right you make a bit of money. If it goes wrong, you are apparently flirting with, to use your own words, financial oblivion. You're out of work, unable to work and hence can't really do some overtime or take a second job or so on if you need a bit of extra cash to work your way past a problem.
Can you not see the problem there? If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -

if you could go back 10-12 years then you could be looking at doing well if you put in the time, not get sucked into gambling and it paid better that working for income. Bookies where giving away £1000s in free bets for new customers, now its much smaller amounts with greater restrictions and would do well to eek out a wage.0
