Virgin Homepage gone missing

I have always used Virgin Media (my broadband provider) as my homepage but, today I can't get rid of AOL and it won't let me get Virgin media.
I have AOL on my toolbar but never use it so why would this suddenly happen?
I am not computer savvy but know how to do a restore so did that for a few days back but nothing has changed.
Can someone tell me how to get my Virgin homepage back please?

Basics first - have you tried resetting the homepage in your browser's Options?
