DO NOT GO TO ONE OF THOSE PPI CLAIM COMPANIES... they will take about 30% of the compensation/refund.
You can contact Northern Rock, give them your details, name, DOB address and I am sure they can provide you with your account number and confirmation that you had PPI. They will more than likely then send you a form to fill in. Fill it in and send it back to them. They may write a letter confirming receipt of the claim form and within 3 weeks they will let you know if your complaint has been upheld (successful) or rejected.DEBTFREE AND PROUD!!0 -

The bank are under no obligation to provide details of account numbers and confirmation of PPI (although some Banks will; especially for current customers). This information can only be definitely obtained by writing a Subject Access Request (SAR) to the lender.
The Bank will only send the Ombudsman Questionnaire form to fill in if you write (preferably) or call them to complain. Some banks don't require a form at all, others insist upon it. It's wise for complainants to download and complete this form regardless, as it can be used later if using the Ombudsman.
The Banks are allowed 8 weeks (not three) to give their full and final response. After this, complainants can go to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) if they disagree with the Bank's decision.
All these details (and more) are at the link I posted earlier

I recommend you make yourself fully familiar with it's contents before posting advice on the forum in the future.Better_Off_1983 wrote: »DO NOT GO TO ONE OF THOSE PPI CLAIM COMPANIES...0
