hi all
Can any one help me.....i had mortgage with natwest, they charged me £220 discharge fee in 2006, however they wont pay me this as they said i took out extra borrowing in jan 06 and therefore got new terms and conditions with £220 fee...is this right? does anyone know?0 -
I am a customer with the Northern Rock. My fixed rate ended in may 2007, but have just renewed with another 5 year fixed rate, I have been looking at the paperwork to see if I have had any charges added.
The only charges applied are £295 for a mortgage review fee and a product fee, the mortgage review fee, which apparently is for a closure of my old mortgage and in advance of a transfer to a new mortgage, does anybody know if this is the fee in which I can reclaim, the product fee is £995 just when you take out a new product ie mortgage, loan etc.
Many Thanks:beer:0 -
:hello:
I am checking the documentation for the last re-mortgage in 2004 from the A&L to the Britannia.
The A&L quotation dated 02/11/2002 states "There are no early repayment fees for full or part repayment of this mortgage" and the offer letter dated 19/11/2002 has no mention of mortgage exit administration fees.
The redemption statement dated 12/03/2004 has an "Early Closure Administration Charge" of £195.00.
Is this a mortgage exit administration fee by another name? If it is and there was no fee quoted in the original offer is the £195.00 totally refundable?
Thanks :rotfl:F.F.C.0 -

Sorry, jgavin, but this looks very dodgy to me. Of course, I could be wrong, but the site doesn't give very much away at all, which sets alarm bells off in my head.
The owners of most of these sites are connected with either Kleeneze or Herbalife - if memory serves, one of the early Herbalife agents in the UK was on featured on BBC Watchdog for the way they treated the people who signed up with them for extra work.
Anyway, the real reason I wanted to post was to ask this: when Martin mentions "remortgaged or paid off your mortgage in the last few years" (I'm paraphrasing from memory here, so this is probably wrong) in his article, how many years does he mean by "few years"?
I remortgaged from the Halifax in 2003, so I've probably got something due to me, which I need to talk to them about. However, going from my recent experiences with them (long story, worthy of another thread), I'm not too hopeful.0 -
please ignore jgavin. I've reported their post for spamming.0

Check here for details: http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/mortgagefees
Edit: Reading my link, you might have a slightly early mortgage for a refund to be due.0 -
I have a question, perhaps? Regarding mortgage exit fees. I don't know if the same applies to a secured loan on your property as that is a second mortgage? I look forward to your feedback. Oh, also I was very successful and reclaimed all £5,000 of my bank charges from a very helpful person at HBOS. Many thanks.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0

smreynard, if they charged your son the amount that is stated on his mortgage offer, then no refund is owing.
No, on his mortgage offer it said £85 but they charged him £250. They are saying that because it says on the offer that the amound can vary that he can't have a refund. I haven't been able to find anyone else on here that has got one from BOS and they don't appear in Martin's tables.0
