Have you checked ebay/gumtree? Someone always seems to be digging a pond or something and looking to shift soilLiving cheap in central London :rotfl:0

Google 'Vale of Glamorgan' and top soil.
I found a council page giving it away for free. Too far for me though, sounds about your neck of the woods.
