    Insurance is unlikely to cover wear and tear, and will only cover certain faults, not others. Just so you are aware whilst comparing policies :)

    As the 2 year warranty is something that is organised and run by Nikon UK, Dixons may not even be aware of this.

    Saying that, they probably do know all about it, but if they advertised the fact that Nikon will provide a 2 year warranty, less people would be tempted to take out the Dixons extended waranty offered at the time of purchase.
