Hi all,
Eventually need to replace old digital camera, birthday on Sunday so missus is going to buy me one.
I'm not a serious snapper, (holidays/ functions/ etc), so dont particularly need to spend a lot of money or need a camera that's too high spec.
As I want to get the best value for my money thoug, I thought I'd seek advice.
Have looked at Curry's website; they have a few low priced cameras that look ok to the untrained eye....
Kodak Easyshare M522 £44 (or M200 £40)
Samsung ST30 £30
Fujifilm finepix L55 £35
Agfa Photo Optima 147 £43.
All these cameras are discounted, and would appear to suit me spec wise.
Suppose I'm just looking for advice, personal, recommendations or alternative suggestions, all of which woul be much appreciated.
Thanks!

At the price range you are looking at, I don't think there is really a great deal of difference between any of them. To my mind the key thing to look for is an optical zoom, which won't feature on all cameras in this price bracket.. A digital only zoom can result in some very pixelated photographs.
If you don't mind waiting a few days for the camera to arrive, you can get some good (refurbished) bargains on the canon outlet site on ebay

Thanks Shimrod,
Those cameras I listed typically have x3 Optical zoom.
That sound ok for holiday use etc?0 -
Yes, any of those cameras sound fine. The Agfa has a 7x optical zoom. If you use a camera for taking movie clips it is also one of two on your list that will do HD video which might be useful for you.
Beyond that, if you are going to Currys, see which one feels the most comfortable to hold/easiest to access the controls.0 -
