Ikea PAX wardrobe question - carpeted floors
evoke
I'm thinking about fitting a PAX wardrobe into one of my bedrooms. The bedroom is fully decorated and carpeted but has no furniture in it yet.
Is it possible to fit a PAX warbrobe into a room that is already carpeted or would I have to cut/removed the carpet to expose the floorboards where the PAX wardrobe would go?
Ideally I want to leave the carpet as it is so that the inside floorspace of the PAX wardrobe would be carpeted and it would be less hassle for me.

Yes you can. Just ensure you fix the wardrobes to the wall.0

I left the carpets in with PAX in one of our bedrooms and took the skirting off to get flush-to-wall.
I did some more in my mum's flat and left the skirting in, but put a batten behind the top of the wardrobes, the same thickness as the skirting.
Both worked well.
Don't try and assemble PAX without another person. They WILL collapse!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
I put one together recently with my son. We left the carpet in place, there being no particular reason to remove it. We left the skirting in place and packed the wall out at the top to the same thickness as the skirting. Very nice bit of kit, the PAX.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
