A plea for advice....

Hi.
I will try to keep this short and thank you for any advice offered.
2007 called HSBC and arranged overdraft. I have phone records and they have admitted they have no records on file of any of my calls.
- account o/d within agreement. No charge
- account overdrawn on second time - still within agreement. They levied charges. I disputed this.
This continued for several months. I refused to pay any money until the charges were removed. They referred debt to Moorcroft. They called all hours of the day and night. I maintained this was in error.
Eventually I paid just the money I actually owed but refused to pay the charges and sent a strongly worded letter to Moorcroft who closed their file and returned the debt to HSBC in 2008. I have this confirmed. I heard nothing from either Moorcroft or HSBC. Fast forward to 2010 when I needed a mortgage. I had an immaculate record, had paid off my mortgage in full 5 years earlier etc etc. Never had a loan or anything else. There was a default for £70 which was entirely the charges. I was unable to obtain a mortgage in my own name and desperate period of personal loans and loans from friends and family followed with £35000 of savings also being used up. It was a very desperate time as it was for a renovation project and I was at one point virtually homeless. I had HSBC remove the default because I was able to prove I had made the phonecalls and they had confirmed in writing to me that they believed that no calls were made.
They confirmed in writing that the default would be removed.
They did, but then they sold the debt to Lowells the following month and I received letters and calls from Lowells.
I have it in writing from HSBC that they mistakenly sold my personal details to Lowells and they offered me £150 compensation, then £350 compensation. They had confirmed to me verbally and in writing that if I was able to substantiate my clain for all the extra costs I had incurred that they would pay this. I put in a figure of £6000 - half of which was compensation - these people put me through hell. They have now rejected that claim.
I have spoken to the ICO who have conformed that HSBC are in clear breach of Data Protection Act. Please could anyone give me any advice as to how to proceed. I do apologise for the length of the post - I have had my life severly affected for the sake of £70.
Just one final point - at the time of asking for the od, I had a second account with HSBC which had an authorised od of £1900. My quest to them has always been - why on earth would I take monies without authority when I had an untouched od limit of such a large amount.
Thank you - any advice gatefully received.
