Looks to me as though you brought the problems on yourself by making what could be termed a fraudulent claim!
A fraudulent claim? I'm sorry but as soon as my daughter was born and we got a flat together I contacted student finance? When is it I have been fraudulent?
And my main issue is the fact it has taken them five months to get to this point.
I fail to see how they could of terminated my support. It is THEIR in-efficiency that has caused this whole problem. Why is it that here also I am being made out to be the bad guy?
I was stating a fact, all Taiko did was tell me what I already knew from student finance and told me I was the one in the wrong.... Forgive me for taking offence.0 -
Yeah, I tend to base my posts around facts, not tell people what they want to hear. If you want me to tell you everything is in order, please post up advising as such.
Your fraudulent claim is caused by you not declaring the partner at the time of initial assessment, which is something you are required to do in accordance with Schedule 4 of The Education (Student Support) Regulations 2011. In failing to do so, you have then claimed for potentially more than you are entitled to.0 -

When did I say I had a partner at the time of initial assessment? or that we were living together or that we were financially linked in any way?
At the time of initial assessment I was living at home, with my dad. Yes my girlfriend was pregnant but when I phoned student finance I was told it didn't matter.
We moved in together JUST before my daughter was born, I contacted student finance about 2 weeks after this. So I guess my claim was fraudulent for about that long. (2 weeks)0 -
If you'd been living at home with your dad then surely you would have had to input his info? I had to put my parents financial info in when I applied because I lived with them at the time?0

I am over 25. Parents do not make a difference at this age. (Again, told this by the direct.gov website and SFE)0 -
So this is the sequence of events, correct me if I'm wrong:
You were living at home with your dad
You applied for student finance independently
You moved in with your partner
You told SF you'd moved in with your partner
5 months later SF ask for £2600 back
Have you told them the exact date you moved in with your partner? Do you have tenancy agreements that show it? Did you carry on spending the loan for those 5 months after your circumstances had changed?
I don't really understand why you pay all the rent and food out of your SF if your partner earns 13K a year though, or why you think being rude to people trying to help will make them want to try harder...0 -

Because she has previous financial commitments (Loans etc) and she pays all of the bills, clothing....every other expense apart from rent & food.
yes the tenancy agreement shows the date of moving and they have it. And yes, I carried on spending the loan, why wouldn't I? I needed to pay rent and they never told me anything different.......0
