Do I need a paying-in slip or can I just handwrite details?

Hi.

Here are the instructions on Lloyds TSB's website for paying cheques in by post:
You can pay cheques into your account by posting them to Lloyds TSB Bank plc, BX1 1LT with a completed Bank Giro Credit slip. You’ll find these slips in your cheque book or paying-in book. For your security, please don’t send us cash by post. Please note that we are not responsible if we do not get the payment, so we recommend that you keep a note of what you’ve sent to us in case of any subsequent queries.

I'm out of Giro Credit slips - can I just write the account name/numbers on the back of the cheque, or on an accompanying piece of paper?

Thanks.

cant speak for Lloyds, but certainly would not be an issue with Barclays sending it in without the paying in slip, really cant see how it would be different for them
