I would try L.K. Bennett, some lovely dresses there. However, I also think a shrug or bolero would solve your sleeve problem.

Have you had a look on the John Lewis website. They have a wide selection of different designers on there.

Whistles or Jigsaw might have something to suit your taste? I had a look at their websites and they certainly had below the knee styles with sleeves but I don't know whether they are funky enough!

Would it be an option to have a fun, funky shrug or wrap (to cover the tattoo) and a more conservative below the knee dress. I suspect that might be easier to come by! Or is the tatt small enough to be covered by camoflage make up just this once to give you a bit more flexibility on dress styles? If you are spending £150 it would be a good idea to buy a dress you would like to wear over and over again, maybe usually with the arm on full display.

Alternatively, if you like the whole Madmen look which is around at the moment, would these shapes be different enough to satisfy your more exuberant side? Some of them have small sleeves, and others would look fab with a shrug.

I have had success with the "oxy" type cleaning products and blood, even that which has been dried on, and washed and washed until I discovered it.

I just use the poundland Wizz one, worth a go washing the other one if you love it so much?

If you can find a nice dress with arms you could invest in some armory like tights for arms and adjust a dress I know selfridges do them

    Hi

I don't come onto this board much but I need some help.

I have been invited to Henley Royal Regatta this year, twice in fact. I went last year and DD fell over, split her lip and got blood on my only suitable dress, which is now ruined as I could not get the blood out :(

I'm going to the Stewards' Enclosure so the dress must fit their rather old-fashioned rules, mainly that the knees must be covered, so on the knee is not good enough, it must be below.

I also need sleeves to cover my tattoo, so not a small cap sleeve but a proper short sleeve, flutter sleeve or to the elbow is also fine.

I'm fairly funky, not after a classic dress, my other one was fairly classic in shape but had a great print. I do not like black, and prefer a print to plain. I love green and blue.

Anyone got any ideas? I've looked at Hobbs, Kaliko, Monsoon, Coast, Karen Millen and House of Fraser but either I don't like anything or it's not long enough to cover the knees.

I'm prepared to pay up to maybe £150  if it's a really ncie dress I can use for occasions in future.

    Thanks!!

THanks everyone! I'm still trawling through websites. I've tried most of those suggested but not all so will have a look.

I don't like shrugs or cardigans, and that armoury stuff won;t cover my tattoo I don't think, but I did remember I have a peach lace jacket that would work over a dress.

I know I'm looking for a Holy Grail lol.

Will also try that Oxy stuff on the bloodstains on the other dress. Would be lovely to be able to salvage it.

Never used this company but I do like the look of some of their dresses

also Boden have quite a lot of nice dresses. You can search for below the knee but I find that I can order some of the "on the knee or above the knee" ones in the long length and they are below mine (if that makes sense?). They have the actual measurements on each dress so you could check if there was one you really liked

I really like this one but have no good reason to buy it!

Some of the best posh frocks (lovely vintage dresses) I've ever bought came from charity shops in well to do areas.

Charity shop could be your best bet or hire a dress for the day :)
