Well as predicted & told by many of you my Mum has had a letter from TPS Parking. A Parking Enforcement Notice basically saying the fine has now gone up to £100 and must be paid or this will increase to £150 in 14 days. This will then be forwarded to a debt collection agency who will add costs on. I have told my Mum not to panic & just ignore every letter & eventually they will stop. But she is getting a bit panicy about it. Makes me bloody angry...

An alternative strategy is to take a thick felt tip pen and write "F*CK OFF" in large writing on the letter they sent, and post it back with no stamp on.

    They'll get the hint then.

Hi Kim! Me and my wife had the same from this carpark. We are now on letter 5 each and nothing has happened. As far as I can tell TPS haven't taken anyone to court ever!! They just BS!!

tps has never done court ever, they just use template letters threatening holy damnation and that is it. The good news is that after 5 or 6 letters the amount owing goes £0.00 which is good news :)
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
  • Hello everyone,

My mum has now had another letter regarding TPS parking this time from GRAHAM WHITE SOLICITORS saying they are acting on behalf of TPS and the bill has now gone to £207.25 i think this is letter 3. Does she still ignore or do we need to seek legal advice. As this is now from a Solicitor her panic mode is in over drive. Please help any advice taken. Thanks in advance. Im just getting more & more mad:mad:

I think the £207.25 one is the last.

Note that the £207.25 is broken down into costs that cannot possibly be incurred unless he actually takes you to court and wins (e.g. warrant issue fees and the like). If you read the letter very carefully you will actually see that the £207.25 are costs that MIGHT be incurred, and you don't actually owe them yet.

Not that this letter is designed to try and extort £207.25 from anyone, oh no sirree!!

I think you're at the end now. Ignore this one.

    She still ignores.

See above. Andy13 is on letter five and you should be able to play SNAP! witht he letters in the sticky thread showing you exactly what each letter will look like and say.

Reassure your mum there is no need to worry.

Show her this thread if need be.

    5t.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

Graham White are the same people as Roxburghe. Compare the signatures on their letters. They are solicitors, but only because they pay a retired solicitor, Michael Sobell, to use his name.

Graham White are under investigation by the Solicitors Regulation Authority for threatening people with legal action that they can't actually take.

Continue to ignore everything you get from them. Very soon, they’ll run out of empty threats and stop throwing good money after bad.

    Hey Kimderella,

I had a parking ticket from the same carpark for the same reason (I presume the reason they gave was leaving the car park).

Did she park on the old PC World side and go to the restaurant? I, and nobody else seems to have a clue who operates the small carpark by the restaurant, but the retail park signs state that it is part of the retail park, therefore presumably also operated by TPS. If so you actually have to cross public land to get to the other part of the carpark. Basically what I'm getting at is it's so damn unclear on that site as to where the boundaries are etc. that any county court judge would laugh this case out. There's just a whole can of worms waiting to explode in the face of TPS over this site if they ever got their asses into gear and managed to get it to court... it's really nothing to worry about.

Graham White (oddly enough that rhymes with what they are full of (s***e)) are the same people as Roxburge (check the address on the letterheads). It's staffed by 16 year old apprentices on just over £2 an hour. They have no solicitor (Michael Sobell an 80ish year old retired lawyer rents his name out to Roxburge so they can call themselves a solicitors firm), they have no clue, they have absolutely nothing on your mother.

She will get a couple of letters from Graham White and then they will give up - I can personally attest to this (my parking ticket was November 2011, they gave up about March 2012).

TPS are managing a dead car park, there are no losses to the company, parking is free, TPS are ridiculous, don't worry at all!
  • Hi Kimderella

I have also found myself in a similar situation at that car park and have successfully ignored the whole thing.

I even contacted Wrexham Council regarding whether TPS had planning permission to erect the cameras on the site and turns out they didn't!

Don't worry, like a bad smell they go away in the end.
