I supported the minimum wage because of bad employers being subsidised by the benefits system (and good employers) to pay £1 or £2 an hour.
But why should someone improve their lot and acquire skills to earn £10 or £15 an hour, if the unskilled worker is paid the same for no extra effort?Been away for a while.0 -

Children are indeed our future. I was more than happy to 'pass up' on the opportunity to have any, thus allowing another couple to have 3 without increasing the population.
My main point is that the world's population (and that of this country) has grown massively over literally millions of years without government [i.e. public] money incentives. It is a rather perverse society that gives direct substantial financial assistance - targeted to those who can afford it the least - to incentivise unsustainable increases in population.0 -
