Surrendering Timeshare Apartment

Can anyone help me regarding surrendering a timeshare apartment which has 5 years contract to run. My husband and I are elderly people (73 and 68) and can no longer afford the maintenance fee.

Have you tried selling it? ebay? It might have more worth if it can be converted to points in a resort somewhere else.illegitimi non carborundum0
