It just seems that by allowing me to take the time as annual leave it's benefitting them more than me, which isn't what the health and wellbeing policy is about. This way they don't have all the paperwork, meetings etc that go hand in hand with absence and they get me to use up my annual holiday entitlement.
By letting you take sickness as leave they are helping you stay in employment.
In any of the many places I have worked you would be forced to take it as sick leave, and then you'd be taken down the absence management route, and dismissed quite quickly. Disability/ reasonable adjustments or not, you need to show you can do the job you are paid for, every hour you are paid for it. Your employer is a business, not replacing benefits.
If you cannot see that you are being treated well, maybe this is not the sort of work for you, but until you are healthy, I do not know what is.
Being disabled myself staying in employment comes before anything else. It is the single most important thing in my life. Everything centres around being well enough to do a good job and be reliable. When you've been let go for poor attendence it's bloody difficult to get into decent well paid work again.
Honestly? I can't believe you are moaning! I'd be very very grateful.Debt free 4th April 2007.
