That cartoon dog on tv? It wasn't an accident *glower*

That advert of the stupid brown cuboid on crutches, for a claims company, with the REALLY annoying whiney voice.
Two scenarios pop into my head:
- it wasn't an accident - someone tried to (unsuccessfully) take it out
- it's the beginning of a new type of advert, where if enough people call the premium rate line, they agree to stop airing it.

You made me chuckle :rotfl:0

Am I the only person to find the dog really annoying, and am persecuting a really adorable little critter? It would explain why they've created what I consider to be a failed sickly sweet character, i.e. everyone else thinks it's nice!0

What advert's this? I have no idea what you're talking about!0

I'm guessing that they mean the "Underdog" adverts for a the National Accident Helpline?
In our house, we love that advert. It was the first advert that our son noticed, paid attention to, on the television. It demonstrated that he does have some hearing (he was thought to be severely if not profoundly deaf), and can focus on one thing for a short time span (he has learning delay). So, for personal reasons, that series of adverts is our favourite

Don't think I"ve seen it, but that's great news about your son's hearing!0

Yes, that's the advert!
And congratulations on that breakthrough with your son! (it really should be two soft drink glasses, given that it's for toasting a child, but the option wasn't available)0 -
I started reading this thread thinking "yes! That's how I feel about that advert too!".
And finished it thinking "I think I might develop a soft spot for it now.."
Tigsteroonie, what a positive story! Thank you for sharing it.
In a nerdy, nosey kind of way, can I ask - is it the 'frequency'/pitch of the voices which makes them audible to your son?
The main thing, of course, is that the adverts gave you all that breakthrough. :T0 -
There's another advert involving a high pitched voice - it's the Vodafone one where a girl at a hairdresser's looks at Yoda and enquires "Whose chihuahua is this?"
Although it should be annoying, I think I don't find it so because the girl is so very accepting of the ostensibly very ugly dog. Lol.0 -

See, I find that advert funny because I think that it sums up chihuahuas! :rotfl:
But, I know that is all about personal taste, and that doting chihuahua owners will not agree.
Don't start me on Yorkshire Terriers. Garfield said it best, IMO

Ye gods, I hadn't thought of them that way before :rotfl:0
