PPI claim with Freedom Fiance

Hi,

I have been reading various posts and just wanted to find out about claiming PPi back from Freedom Finance.
It was only in my early days of taking loans out that I ever used payment protection and for the 2 consecutive Natwest loans I had over 8 years ago I have no problem as I was fully aware of the costs etc.

The last loan I had that used Payment protection was with Freedom Finance back in 2005 / 2006 I believe.
Whilst I did know that there was payment protection I did not know it was front loaded and that when I came to repay it a year later I had to pay all of the payment protection. This always annoyed me but I just took it as a lesson to never go with that sort of loan company again.

I would like to look into making a claim but have a few issues. Firstly I have no paper work left and when I phoned Freedom I was informed that the company name was bought back in 2009, so they do not have any records for previous years.
How would I go about obtaining this information now?
If I did manage to get this information, what are my chances of actually getting anything back?

Thanks for any help, it is much appreciated.

Mark
