Pegasus Marketing/Credit Wise

Anyone had any dealings with these companies?
I got a call from Pegasus who i think do the leg work for credit wise and gave them some info based on my old credit cards, some of which i think did have PPI. They then get me to sign something and credit wise take over i assume.
Now, i have no paperwork based on my old financial affairs and they also said that to request a complete file from Egg (one of my old providers) it would cost £10 which i assume i pay upfront? They will look back to the year 2000 apparently.
Credit wise take 25% of the final settlement. To be honest i am very busy and prob would not have done this myself so i'm not so concerned about the fee although i realise i could gain more by doing it myself - unless anyone can reassure me that someone with absolutely no recollection of past history can still do things easily?
Anyone gone down this route and found it to be smooth?
Thanks

Ignore my last post.. having read a few more on here, i have decided to give it a go myself. LOL
An aside question, if i call Egg and ask them for a full history for my time with them how far back can they go? I know in accounting land records only need to be kept for 6-7 years by requirement but anything over that can be binned. Is it the same for credit card companies and customer history?0 -

You need to do the SAR
One to each bank you have credit with.

Enclose £10 and ask for all info they hold on you, put as much info on you as you can to help them find you, give them 40 days to respond, some banks hold data for more than 6 years so see what you get back.0 -
Thanks Amersall
I'm not holding my breath as this was back in 2000 - 2005 but you never know!

Do it yourself. I did fill out a FOS questionnaire, send it to MBNA recorded delivery and have had a upheld claim letter back today. All within 8 weeks and took me 20 minutes to do.

Thanks taking control
One question - what is an FOS questionnaire?

If you have a look at the topic how to reclaim, there is a questionnaire that is used by FOS and the banks. If you complete this from the start and send it, it will speed things up as all the information required is being supplied by you.
It could not be easier
