Help transferring photos from phone to PC

Hi,

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 and have used the camera for the first time to take some holiday snaps. But I can't work out how to download them from the phone to my PC.

I tried loading KIES to my PC and succeeded in linking the phone to the PC, but when I selected all the pics and chose "download" it either wouldn't work at all, or I downloaded one pic but it was a tiny square in the middle of the PC screen, so couldn't see it!

As you can probably tell, not hugely techie ... but if anyone has some simple steps I could follow I'd be very grateful.

I do have a cable to link the phone to the PC so could do it wired if someone can tell me how!!

Many thx in advance.

That should do the trick, just plug the cable into the phone and into a USB socket on your PC.
If it doesn`t automatically open go to "my computer" where you`ll find it.

    You may need this software:

You have a few options here. Try connecting the cable to your phone and plugging it into PC. Most manufacturers have a plug and play option which will start installing the phone set up and then enabling you to access what's in your phone from there. It'll be some kind of Samsung sync program and will pop up automatically.

Personally I don't like using these and I would normally remove the micro memory card from the phone, inserting it into the SD card slot on PC using a little adapter card.

If you don't have that, something worthwhile to use is something like Dropbox which means no cables, no removing of memory cards and will very quickly get the photos on your computer.

Dropbox can be installed in your phone and on your PC. It works this way:

You open dropbox which is like a folder and then add items you want to transfer, photos, documents etc... By having a dropbox on your PC means when you add anything from your phone, it automatically shows up in your PC.

Kind of like being able to access your email account anywhere. But without the need to send an email with many files. It also allows other people to share a file with you without going to the trouble of sending an email.

    Worth looking into.
