Mobility Scooter Hire - France

Does anyone know whether you can hire Mobility Scooters in France?

I am taking my nan to Le Touquet in France next month and like the idea of hiring a scooter for her so she doesn't have to rely on us pushing her in the wheelchair the whole time.

I have seen that you can hire them in the UK, although the delivery & collection charges are so much it's almost worth me buying a second hand one instead.

I live in France and can honestly say I've never seen them advertised for hire. HOWEVER, I've never actually needed to look for one so it could well be that the service exists. There are certainly companies advertising care services for older people within their homes so it's something that could be covered by one of them. Best of luck in your search and I'll try to get a couple of names of those companies for you (can't think of any off the top of my head).

Your best bet is to contact the French Red Cross and ask. We know people who have hired wheelchairs from them. The Head office has English speakers.

This is in Paris but does show that it is possible in France. Try googling
location fauteuil roulant electrique
and see if you can find one that is nearer.

These scooters do seem far less common in France than here.
