Lib Dems to Blame for Con losses?

Off the top of my head - raising the tax threshold, pupil premium, stopping ID cards, no third runway at Heathrow, no rise in the inheritance tax threshold, banning clamping. Not bad considering they're the minor party in govt and it's only 2 years in.
Most of those were also Tory policies0 -
Coalition governments mean compromises. A single party Government can normally get through their policies much easier without all the faffing about.
The trouble with our local elections during Government mid-terms is that people nearly always ignore the local issues & vote to show their displeasure of the Government knowing that it won't actually change anything at Westminster.
It's a waste of votes (they should be voting on local issues) & it only muddies the water. When you have local government of one party & national government of another then all you have is room for one to constantly blame the other for everything that happens. For example, I foresee many CT rises in Labour held areas next year.0 -

What's the alternative then, stay in opposition permanently? What's the point of even entering politics if you're not interested in power?
The LibDems were always a protest vote, they were always going to lose that when they got power. But what's the point of even being there if you don't take power when the opportunity arsies?
Take power? What power?
They sold out for a sniff of the top table and a few ministerial cars, and they've set the party back 50 years. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Hint - ministerial cars are power. They are in government, more than they've ever had since the war. They have implemented more of their manifesto than they ever would have if they'd stayed in opposition. If they don't want ministerial cars they may as well give up politics.Take power? What power?

Or maybe they should campaign on "vote for us, but we don't want power we like to oppose".:rotfl:
Your sig is apt.0 -

Just another example of political short-termism. And yes, you can't rely on me, but at least I haven't c0cked up to that extent. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Isn't almost all politics short termism?
It is hard to think long term when you have 4 years to get something done and potentially 75% of what you have to deal with is from the last set of people in power.0 -

Quite probably has central Government adjusts the figures and withdraws support that propped up their own councils."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

I think people are fed up with being lied to by the Con'd-Libs.
They keep saying they want to help hard working families!
By reducing tax credits and putting millions into the 40% tax brackets is NOT helping families.
People will vote on what happens to their incomes because thats what feeds them.0
