Hi,
Wasn't sure where to post this query on here or the Techie board, I'll try here
I'm after a piece of software to help me manage a mailing list, carry out invoicing and stocktake. I don't want anthing fancy although it would have to run on Vista.
Can anyone recommend anything, I ain't got a clue
.
Thanks in advance

Hi there
If I were in your shoes, I would be investing in SAGE accounting software (for one company I think it's around £110 - £180 plus VAT dependent on which package you choose though I may be wrong). This package - given a basic knowledge - will manage invoices, debtors, receipts, stock purchases payments to creditors (suppliers) and also keep you informed as to where your business is at in terms of profit and loss and even balance sheet. I am an accounting student and rate this package highly. I would think that SAGE cuts down costs for businesses because it reduces the amount you need to rely on an accountant for. (I may be wrong of course) I also means you know exactly who owes you money and how long they have owed you for. Go to http://www.sage.co.uk/productsandservices/home.aspx?tid=131865&stid=131937 for an idea of products that may suit you.
I don't know if it works on VISTA though.
I would also suggest you take a short SAGE course at your local college so you can get to grips with it quickly.
Hope this helps you with your decision.0 -
Thanks for your advice Mike.
I've had a look on the Sage site and looks like the more recent versions are ok on vista. I've also read the reviews on amazon and looks like it would be best to follow your advice and do a course to learn how to use it
Unless anyone else can offer any advice on other software I may well be following the sage route.0 -
I think QuickBooks might also do the job for you, at a cheaper price than Sage, but I have no idea if it will run on Vista, and I'd still recommend either a course or some in-depth advice from someone who knows what they're doing! We're just starting to use it at work, and I'm still floundering!Signature removed for peace of mind0

My recommendation would be https://www.kashflow.co.uk
I've been using it for 4 months now and not had any problems with it. Very easy to use and will work on any computer that has a web browser. There is currently a 60 day free trial offer.
