Hello,

I've just checked my Nationwide credit card statement online and there is a £0.17 charge titled 'Merchandise Interest'. I've no idea what this is. I opened the account in January this year on a 6 months 0% purchase deal, due to end in June. The account has only been used to make purchases (no cash withdrawals, currency, etc.).

Has anyone else come across this issue as well?

    That's just what Nationwide put on their statements against your interest charge based on your balance for that month.

    I've never Balance Transferred or Cash Advanced with Nationwide but I might assume:

    Purchases = Merchandise Interest
    Cash Advance = Cash Interest
    Balance Trans = Balance Transfer Interest.

    But I could be completely wrong about the bottom 2 - I only ever have 'Merchandise Interest' and only ever purchase on the NW card.
