my local council (wakefield west yorks for parents also in the area) are doing real nappy incentives we can pick from a set of nappies (12 pre folds 3 wraps and a pack of liners) £40 cash back on purchases or 6 weeks free laundery service, im interested in using real nappies as we spend fortune on disposeables but not sure wether to go for nappy pack or cash back, i wondered what would other people go for

I'd go for cash back personally, just because it gives you more choice about which nappies to buy. £40 is a very good incentive! Our local council used to give £30 cash back (2 payments of £15) but stopped a couple of years ago because the scheme was 'too difficult to administer'.

I agree, the cash back would be the better option.

However find out if you can get this even if you purchase the nappies of the internet as I have heard that some councils dont allow this. Also find out if you can get it if you buy from 'work at home mums' (WAHM) as they, imo tend to have better nappies.

Going for the cashback will give you the option to purchase a variety of nappies to try.

cashback is probably better if you go to the http://www.thenappylady.co.uk/ you can get impartial advice about which nappies will suit you best and there is a classifieds section for second hand nappies too (plus it's somewhere to sell yours if you get ones you don't like or when baby outgrows them)
