Conservatory leaking

Hi,

I have fairly recently (Summer 2005) moved into a house which has an Edwardian conservatory (similar to this one: https://www.roofs.tv/conservatoryroofs/images/ed.jpg) built onto it. The house was only built in 2003 so the conservatory cannot be any older than this.

In the recent storms the decorative panel on the apex of the roof has blown down and the conservatory has developed a leak. The previous owners have kindly left a number of invoices which act as the guarantee for those particular items. There is however no invoice, therefore no guarantee for the conservatory. I have got an estimate and revised estimate from a local conservatory retailer (who I am certain constructed the conservatory) which mentions that should the payments for the conservatory be made on time a 10 year guarantee would be applicable.

Do I have any rights to the guarantee despite not having a physical piece of paper to say so and that the conservatory was constructed during the time of the previous residents (are they likely to have records of which conservatories are still under guarantee?)?

Many thanks

Brian Jamieson
