Flash crashing Chrome
Comments

First, if you have multiple versions of the Flash Player installed you should probably get rid of them; Chrome has its own built-in.
Second, try this:- Click on the spanner and select Settings
- Choose Under the Bonnet from the list of available categories
- Click on the button marked Content Settings at the top of the page
- Under Plug-ins, select Click to play.

Ok seems ok so far but its not a skull its a jigsaw puzzle icon on a black square and its still happening on video links on a site , but if I click on the puzzle it works. very confused at the moment, until I can understand it I think I will stay with ie9.
Its not letting me use you tube unless I click on the puzzle, so not really fixed.0 -
That has happened to me over the past 24 hours - it seems to crash when I go to BBC news and then stays crashed until I come out of Chrome and then go back in. I'm on the latest Chrome update so it must be a recent bugOld dog but always delighted to learn new tricks!0

That's how 'click to play' works; the puzzle piece is a simple visual indicator which tells you a plugin is present on the page but is yet to be loaded into memory.
If it isn't running, it can't crash.0 -
Yes but thats not how it should be and I would like to fix it properly.
Maybe I'm a fusspot .0 -
Under Plug-ins, select Run automatically (recommended), then click Disable individual plug-ins. What do you see in the list that appears there?0

Remember the first thing I suggested? Pop into Windows' Control Panel and uninstall all versions of Flash that you find there. You can reinstall the one for IE later should you so wish.0
