Voicemail from co-operative bank

Received a voicemail earlier saying they need to speak with me today and it's not a sales and marketing call.

Any idea what this will be about? I am within my overdraft limit, not over it and wont go over it at all this month.

Bit concerned and can't call them back for a while yet.

When Barclays do it it is always for "suspicious card activity" and its the fraud department that you get through to.

Are you expecting any deposit that is "larger than usual"?

Lloyds keep calling me when something goes into my accounts to ask whether I'd like any advice on what to do with my money (the answer is always 'no thanks').

If it was a legitimate call, caller ID should be recorded as 0845 401 9126.

They use an Automated Voice Messaging system when there is any activity that their system automatically flags up. I received one recently when I had used my card online on a Norwegian website, closely followed by an American website (although both quite small amounts) and they wanted to check I had authorised both of these transactions.

I also got one when a charity website rejected my donation.

It doesn't necessarily mean anything big has recently gone through. They are just double checking that you know what is happening on your account.

Well, that was a bit annoying.

Seems a standing order didn't go as one of Co-Operative's systems failed and they needed my permission to resend it.

Seems odd they need permission and that they couldn't just say that on the message too.

If it's voice mail, they don't know who might be listening to the messages. It's a bit like a medical centre phoning about your fertility test results.
