Not sure I'd want to, TBH.

No matter how much £ I had, don't think I could justify £300 worth of sweeties.

    But are they happy?
Do they fully appreciate their kids (or just buy them lots of stuff to make them feel like good parents).

Bite your tongue, hard though it is, they'll be going home soon.
  • £300 on sweets??????????????????????????? Is she insane?????????????????? does she like the dentist?????????? So her kids are materialistic, spoilt, gummy and have no true worth of anything.

Good job she's a nice person eh!
If you wait for perfect conditions, nothing would ever get done! :T

Take comfort in the fact that they'll be fat soon if they keep eating so many sweeties....

It's not a childish gripe, I feel the same about some relations who tell me how hard their life is and that 'she' is now 'soooo' tired after going full time at work as they embark on their 4th Florida trip in a year.....

I guess it is our realisation that they don't know what having it tough is all about that winds us up !!
Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.
  • My sis in law is the same, she spends like there is no tomorrow, her well off hubby foots the bill ALWAYS.

Her child is a spoilt brat.

But I can say I earn my money myself and value what I have.

Have a grumble anytime it what we're here for!

I agree with richardvc, I was thinking as I read your post "This is not a childish gripe at all...."

I feel for you and can only offer similar advice as in they will be gone soon and you won't have to put up with their insensitivity any longer.

She's not doing it on purpose but it is insensitive. And quite vulgar actually if you think about it.

Keep going, you will get such a great feeling when you are debt free - and you know you'll never be silly enough to spend £300 on bloomin' sweets in Tesco!

I mean we all get the munchies from time to time but really. ;)
