Well to be honest, Ive done well out of AA.

Last year I got it for about £15 using a code from a Newspaper it was £35 and I got a £20 voucher back for M&S. When I got my document I got a free years cover for Home Emergency, had to use this twice last year when I had an electricity emergency and a burst pipe emergency. They sent me documents yesterday to cover emergency for anothe year at a cost of £72 but I rang to cancel it.
They immediately offered me it at half price, so all that cover for £36.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Just cancelled AA cover. Went from £91 (less £20 Quidco) last year to £148 - 20% discount (£111) so an increase of £40. When I rang them they dropped to £100, but wouldn't budge from that.
Now shopping around for cover. People seem to recommend Green Flag, but my quote for 'personal' cover was dearer than the AA. RAC seems best, £94 - £20 Quidco.

  • I swap every year or so between AA and RAC. It keeps the cost down. Does mean you spend half-an-hour on the phone to AA trying to cancel though.

How about £45 with the RAC?
RAC Personal cover, 1 person (you covered for ANY vehicle you are in) Roadside, recovery and home. £105. Go via topcashback.co.uk and you get £60 back on that £105 making it £45.
That's what I have just done.
I switch between the AA and RAC every year and use whatever cashback site goves me the best deal. There's no company loyalty to long term customers anymore, so why should I be loyal to them.
