Car insurance rates - times are a con?

Having searched for Car Insurance quotes as renewal due soon, I find that the rates are excessive having driven for over 45 years the rates have always gone up every year, on this occassion I find the rates have increased again to a point that on one site I was quoted £200.00 + plus £100-200 excess plus voluntry excess £50.00 = say £400+ for a estimated payout if necessary of £300.00 estimate of value if car written off.
Any other people with 2nd hand cars come across this situation???:j

the value of your car within the insurance premium is very small beer.
your premium is there to cover a possible 5m quid payout to an accident victim.
your 300 quid mondeo is niether here nor there.Get some gorm.0 -

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies.
