Old Immersion Heater - Take to scrap dealer ?

I think scrap copper is selling for around £5.00 a kilo. So a standard size 900mm by 450mm copper cylinder may be worth £50.00(ish)
Not all copper is the same. There are varying grades. 'Bright copper', which is as copper that is clean, free from paint and more importantly, free from other metals is about £5/kilo.
A cylinder has other metals with it (even solder is classed as a contaminant) and therefore the price will be reduced to what is called 'Braisery copper'. This is about £3 - £3.50/kilo at the moment.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
