    Icequeen - yeah looks like you're right, don't think there is a dispute after all. Thanks very much for looking at the figures and explaining it to me.

    It's annoying that the tax office didn't take the time to explain things properly following my dispute letter, rather than just replying to say 'your income went up' - end of story.

    Looks like I'll have to arrange some sort of repayment plan as there is no way we can afford to pay it all back at once.
