XBOX 360 Games beware

hey guys,

At the beginnning of December i bought 2 XBox 360 games from user PYBURN68 which seemed like a great bargain at the time £25 for each game brand new and just out.

Literally last week i got a letter from a company (mx2.com) or something like that saying that the games i bought from that user where ordered from this company and delivered directly to me using a stolen credit card.

so basically ive sent the ebay user money for a game. he has then ordered a game from that company using a stolen credit card and getting delivered directly to me.

Ive contacted them and told them whats happened but ive heard no response passing on the ebay item id and ebay username! i want to find out if i am liable for anything or can get in trouble for handling fraudulent acquired games etc?

cheers

what else did the letter say?

they probably think it was you using the stolen credit card but if you have told them you purchased from an ebay seller and have proof of it then they would be more interested in the ebay seller than you since it was them using a stolen credit card not you.

you have done nothing wrong don't worry

Why would you buy something of someone with that FB? Not being judgemental BTW just wondering.

If the games retail for £40-45 in the shops... how on earth did you think some random person ebay could possibly sell them at £25...... baring in mind the price he listed them at would include some sort of profit for himself.....

I just cant understand why people fall for these scams.

There would be very little point in ebay banning him, with feedback like that he can't sell anything any more anyway. Sellers are destroyed by their feedback, that's what it is for.

some people, especially newbies, don't look at feedback though

yep and their feedback was appalling before all those purchases were made, so people still buy from people with bad feedback
