Cold calls from 'The Claim's Guys'?

Hi There,

Wondered if anyone else had been experiencing a high volume of cold calls from 02031671196?

I have been getting at least 10 calls a day from this number for well over a week. I normally ignore numbers I don't know and let them leave a VM. If they don't and persist, normally means its a cold call.

After a week of constant calls I answered and found out they're call the 'claim guys'.

theclaimsguys.co.uk

I asked them to remove me from the list but they have still called me another two times after.

Have now emailed them to request formerly that they stop.

And compained to offcom, trading standards and the phone preference people.

When I asked them where they had got my information from (they knew my name as well as mobile) they said they acquired it from a comparison website.

The only ones I have ever used are money supermarket and confussed.com.

I find this very, very poor. I always uncheck about hearing from 'partners' and do not expect a company to sell my data on.

Have complained about them too.

Wondered if anyone else has been getting hounded with cold calls?

Cheers,

SSAL

The claims guys cold called me. I have never had PPI and as an IFA i couldnt complain even if I did. However, they kept telling me that I could complain. I was told the usual porkies as well as they said they represent the Govt and are getting money back for people that they have in a pot waiting for them.

A complete farce of a company. Although it isnt a farce as they are encouraging fraudulent complaints and that is not a joke.

Have had about 5 calls over the past week. Usually just hang up but decided to ask some questions tonight.

Called about 7pm on my landline.

Asked for by my name. I asked who's calling... 'The Claims Guys'

Before he could continue I asked how they got this number as I'm ex directory and on the TPS.

He said my details were passed to them after I filled in an internet survey or quiz.

I said I don't do internet surveys or quizzes and always make sure I tick the 'do not pass my details' box.

He said I must have done.

I then pointed out that I only put down my mobile number when I complete ANY details anywhere and NEVER put my landline number down. So there is NO legitimate way they could have obtained my details.

He then said (wait for it..)

"Actually, we've been given permission from the Ministry of Justice to contact you"

    !!!!

I just laughed at this point and said.. you have GOT to be joking!

I then asked him to remove my details from their database and ended the call.

I expect another call tomorrow.. after which I'll complain to OFCOM.. although I don't think they care.
