    I think we are being a bit hard on the woman. It's her bother, not someone she met in the street. You might reasonably expect your family not to screw you over - unless they already have 'form' that is.
    So I guess the lesson is - 'Don't trust anyone'.
    True no doubt but a bit sad.

    I'm not sure if the message is 'don't trust anyone'. For me, it's more along the lines of 'if something's critically important, take responsibility for it yourself'.

    Oooh, tough one! I think Jovi's right and the lady will have to take it as a lesson learnt, but I do agree with Paddy's mums comments too. It doesn't sound like the family have taught their son any morals or sense of responsibility if they can't see a problem with what he's done! And I wonder if her brother would be so flippant about it all if SHE hadn't bought his ticket for him and HIS numbers came up? Def not worth starting a family fued over, but it's a shame nevertheless.
