Hi took out PPI a number of years ago through Nationwide credit card. Moved to Ireland 5 years ago. Found out recently that I am not covered in the policy as I am living outside of Uk. Can I claim back the money that I have been paying into the policy over last 5 years? Thanks.

As Nationwide is a UK company you can complain to it and the UK Financial Ombudsman Service if necessary.
However, it is not responsible for your decision to maintain a policy when you no longer lived in the UK so that is unlikely to be considered grounds for upholding the complaint.0 -
Hows that Nationwide's fault?0

Hi, the company who I took out PPI with is called Pinnacle. I belive if the company was advised of my new address, they should of advised me that I was no longer covered in the policy.0

By Ireland I assume you mean Southern Ireland? I had a refund from Alliance & Leicester years ago when I moved there and had continued to pay the insurance, as the insurance did not cover me outside of the UK they refunded the relevant payments they had taken for the 7 months after I had moved. I wasn't aware of this at the time, they made me aware of this. If the Insurance Company or bank that you have taken out the insurance with are aware of the FACT that you have moved outside of the UK then surely they are liable NOT to have continued to take your premiums especially if payments were by direct debits.0
